*1025 Dokdo Toner*: * This is a HG product for so many, and I get the hype (and am also on the bandwagon)! Before this product, my boyfriend used the Etude House Soon Jung toner and was looking for a similar lightweight, water-y type toner, suitable for sensitive skin types, to replace this recent empty. And ever since being approached last winter by a very enthusiastic woman in H-Mart trying to sell us this toner, we've been interested in it. * It's free of fragrance, essential oils, and alcohol, and it serves as a hydrating toner to apply to skin after cleansing. In comparison with other water-y toners, it's thinner than the Klairs Supple Preparation Toner but seemingly feels thicker/more rich (perhaps it's the Xanthan Gum) than the Soon Jung. I apply by dispensing a 5-7 drops into the palm of my hand, rubbing onto the face, and patting until dry. I'm a fan of how quickly it absorbs into skin. My boyfriend hasn't had any issues or flare-ups of irritation from this product. * The Olive Young website states that some people have found this product to help reduce oiliness/sebum or remove dead skin, and to be honest, I'm unsure if I can back up these claims in light of the other products I use in my routine. That said, my skin does have an instant layer of hydration upon application and it feels soft/supple to the touch. Ingredients of note, in addition to good ole Glycerin, are red seaweed extract, sugarcane extract, betaine, and panthenol, all humectants that assist with drawing in and adding hydration to the skin. * On an interesting note, my boyfriend visited the southwest United States on a recent trip, and his skin was totally dried out from the travel/change in climate. He brought this toner along with him, but I think he needed an occlusive moisturizer to help lock in the hydration (his Illiyoon was too large for the plane, sadly). A reminder to use a moisturizer with occlusive ingredients even when you have an effective, hydrating toner! **TL;DR:** A hydrating toner that appeals to different skin types that is relatively affordable/economical ($16.20 right now for the 200mL on Olive Young, though the 500mL version might be an even better deal) and a good option for sensitive skin types.
