Lifestyle factors: 35F, dry and sensitive skin with rosacea, office job. I've been a skincare enthusiast since my mid-20s because I enjoy nerding out about it. I have never smoked, I stay hydrated every day, and I have an unrestricted but mostly healthy diet. I have been using tretinoin 0.025% since July, but I used retinol before that for a few years. I have never had any professional treatments, fillers, or botox, although I plan on checking out PDL/vbeam for rosacea this spring. ... I used the mask daily for two weeks when I started, then 3-5 days a week since. I take off my makeup with micellar water before using the mask and I do my routine after. This mask turns off after 10 minutes, so I do one session on my face and one with the mask laid sideways to cover my neck and upper chest (this is why I chose the Omnilux mask--it's flexible!).
What I like and dislike about results: About two weeks in, I noticed improved volume in mid and lower face that is most noticeable in motion or when talking. At a three-quarters angle of my face, the apple of the cheek is less sunken. I haven't seen that kind of volume improvement with years of vit C and retinoids, so I really like that. Looking at the photos, I can see improved volume in the upper eyelid at the outer corner of my eye, and the expression lines over the orbital bone have less depth.
I'm a little neutral on the impact on redness. It's the same in the photos because those are broken capillaries, but I do think the look when I'm flushed is a bit improved. I also noticed a big improvement in upper chest redness (I don't always extend skincare down to my neck and chest, so there was some sun damage there).
I would have liked to see a better reduction in the crepiness of the topmost layer of skin (probably most visible here on the top of my cheekbone). But I think tretinoin could be impacting this, since I've only been using it for about six months. I'm not peeling or having irritation anymore, but it still seems drying. I have seen a noticeable reduction in redness on my chest, which is nice. ...
